Abstract Painting

I think the reason I love abstract painting so much is the unpredictable nature of the work.  When ink or paint moves on a page it responds to the imperfections on the page, plus the effect of how it is applied.  The shape, colour, opacity and the way different colours blend is endlessly fascinating to me.

The process of abstract painting is the opposite to my geometric and symmetrical work (where ink is carefully measured and developed).  I love this comparison between the chaos of the abstract work and the order of my other work.
